Why Making Less Means More at Isabelle Meira
We don’t follow schedules. Our capsule collections are released only when there’s true purpose - and always with intention. Crafted in Bali from luxurious fabrics, each piece is made to last.
While many fashion brands are trying to make more, Isabelle Meira takes the opposite approach: making less, but better. The choice of working in small-batch production ripples through everything we do, and it’s one of the most powerful sustainability decisions our brand has made.
Small-batch production means garments are made in limited quantities. We create capsule collections with a small amount of styles, sometimes less than 50 pieces at a time. This means that our swimwear is individually crafted, not mass-produced, and we can reduce the amount of overstock. Our pieces are only made when there's a real need or demand to help us minimise waste and also buy more of what our customer wants.
In traditional fashion retail, unsold inventory is often discarded, burned, or buried in landfills. The scale of waste is staggering - millions of garments destroyed each year, simply because they didn’t sell fast enough. At Isabelle Meira we reject this model by committing to resell, donate, or recirculate any unsold stock.
Producing fewer items means we can give each piece the attention it deserves. Small batches enables:
- Closer oversight of construction, so seams, fit, and finish meet the highest standards.
- Selective material choices for durable fabrics sourced for longevity rather than fleeting trend appeal.
-
Respect for people as we operate with less rushed timelines and therefore less pressure on makers, supporting more ethical production.
This is why our swimwear is built to live in your rotation for years, not just a season.
Sustainability doesn’t need to be complicated. Sometimes the most radical act is to make less and make it well. At Isabelle Meira, our intention is always to produce thoughtfully, and choose quality over quantity.
